Welcome to my blog "So you wanna be a Surgical Technician". My named is Alexandra Sweet, I am 19 years old and a student at South Seattle College. This blog has started off as a school project in one of my classes, but I think it is brilliant. Due to the fact it's going to lead my way to becoming a Surgical technician. For my project I am going to be blogging about my career choice as a Surgical Technician, as you know. I want to become a Surgical Technician because I have always had a passion for learning about science and the human body. Part of that reason is because I was diagnosed with diabetes at four years old. Also because science was always one of my top classes in school.
A lot of my family has influenced my decision to become a surgical technician because they all have careers that involve science or the healthcare of people. Two of my great grandfathers were scientist. I have uncles, and great uncles that were doctors and dentist. I have a second cousin that is an ER Doctor. One of my great grandmothers was a nurse and and most of my aunts are nurses. So you can say I have a calling for the healthcare field.
